We believe in ethical work processes and transparency. You are welcome to take a look behind the scenes at how our shoes are made in the video below. You can also find out exactly what materials our shoes are made from by checking the composition information under each shoe model in our shop.
The Earth is our home, and we treat her like that. Virón uses bio-based, recycled, and upcycled materials in production of our shoes, while minimising the use of virgin and fossil-based materials. Read more about the production process of our AppleSkin leather here.
All our soles are made using up to 70% recycled rubber, insoles are made using 40% recycled plastic bottles, while some shoe models are made from 100% recycled materials. Using waste to make new products is part of our circular approach to production.
We source our materials form several warehouses in Europe. Materials such as surplus military supplies and denim are upcycled into new uppers.
Our shoes are packaged and shipped in a recycled and biodegradable cardboard box. Your shoe box is also ensured with 100% plastic-free, chemical dye-free tape.
We believe in the rights of all living beings and stand against any form of animal oppression. Not only are we fully vegan and PETA certified, we regularly commit to activities and donations to support animal and climate-focused organisations.
Our favorite leather substitute. made out of food waste from the apple juice industry in Northern Italy with 60% bio-based components.
The evolution of AppleSkin™. performs the same, looks even better: featuring a soft matte finish, our plant-based leather new entry is already a staple.
Our Faux Suede as well as other leather substitutes we use are made out of recycled PET bottles: up to 16 bottles are being recycled to produce 1 sq.m. of this material.
